~Character Profile: Roderick Hipatia ~
(Ro-dur-ick High-pay-sha)
Name: Roderick Hipatia
Age: 59
DOB: November 14th
DOD: N/A
Gender: Male
Attitude: Roderick is a tired man that has lived a very long time, and has seen many terrible things, viewing the world that is something cruel and hard. A typical warrior, he is very strong and steadfast mentally. When something needs to be done, he will do it swiftly and without hesitation, even if it means taking the life of another. Despite his somewhat bleak view, he is not without humor and happiness. Indeed he enjoys the company of his fellow man where he may swap stories of years past, and enjoys passing bits of wisdom and instruction to young promising children. He comes off as a talkative old man, but he never brags about past deeds, drawing on some personal code of honor. It can be said then, that he has two personalities. One that is hard and serious, drawing upon in times of battle and need, and the other a hidden softness for the people he vowed to protect. For now he believes he has lived his life the best he can, and if he is to die he might as well die doing something useful.
Group Number: Six
Name: Malus Color: Green Fringe: Silver Symbol: A Rune (will draw later)
Nation: Tree Nation
Weapons: Quarterstaff used like a walking stick at times (Elm with metal tips), Floral based magic, drawing from Tarrus, the Nine Headed Fox
Strengths: Skilled in stave weaponry, a skilled battle tactician, magic
Weaknesses: He is starting to show his age, while his still is a powerful warrior, he is slower and weaker than his prime years. He also refuses several comforts and help, believing them to be wasted on an old man such as himself. On that note he at times can come off as a bit suicidal in battle, taking very big risks when only his life is on the line. In other words, he is a stubborn old man that nobody can talk sense into once he’s made up his mind.
Description: Roderick is an old man, but he is far from weak and feeble. Standing about a solid 6 feet tall and weighing 164 pounds, his frame can be described to be heavy, but not fat, and somewhat leaner than it was in his younger years. His skin, the odd bits not covered with hair or armor, are fair, and marred with the lines and wrinkles of age. His hair is long and shoulder length, and has faded from its once strong brown to the silver of old age. Matching it is a long beard, reaching down to the base of his neck. He keeps his beard and hair well kept and trimmed, so instead of looking like a wild man, people tend to view him to resemble a sage. He has pale blue eyes, which gaze out from heavy brows. He usually wears a serious expression, typical of a man that’s lived as long as he, though he still knows humor and will often be smiling as often as he is scowling.
His typical dress is a suit of metal or leather armor, inscribed with rune-like symbols important to his people. Over this he wears robes and cloaks, the colors usually being muted greens and browns. Roderick is not one for fancy or showy clothing. When not expecting to be involved in a battle, he can be seen in very simple, peasant-like clothing, kept hidden under a robe. He rather dislikes jewelry, so none will really be seen on his person.
